Nodular is a severe type of which is characterised by spots which are bigger then regular and the spots may be painful and last for months. The nodules can show up as hard large bumps under the surface of the skin. With the more severe cases of nodular acne, the spots can become red, tender, swollen bumps in the skin. Anyone who has nodular will want to treat it as fast as possible for two reasons - one that it looks unattractive and two, that if you do not treat it you can end up with permanent scarring.
One of the most commonly used treatments for nodular is a medication called Accutane. Accutane has some negative side effects though and for that reason I would not advise it as the first type of treatment to be used. Accutane can cause birth defects in an unborn child and can cause depression and suicidal thoughts. For this reason, Accutane is usually only prescribed for the more serious cases of nodular acne.
It is far better to seek a natural treatment avoiding harsh medication if possible. There are various types of treatments available. One common type of treatment is to use one of the numerous anti-acne face washes, lotions and creams available. These can offer some benefit but are more likely to be helpful in mild cases of nodular acne. These creams and lotions will only help improve skin hygiene on the surface and will not resolve the root cause of the problem.
It can be beneficial to see a dermatologist but these may be expensive and it can be hard to find a good specialist. A dermatologist will be able to advise a skin care routine to help you improve skin hygiene and help the skin heal itself more effectively. This is not a quick fix though.
Another common route people take to handle is to handle any nutritional deficiencies, intolerances and allergies. Handling these will help you get all the nutrients to help the body heal itself and free you of any allergies or intolerances which may be aggravating your nodular acne.
Unfortunately there is no quick fix "cure" for nodular acne. There are some medications which can help but they can have serious negative side effects and so are not recommended unless the case of is severe - but even then some of the medications can even cause suicidal thoughts! It is best to take a natural route if possible to handle the including nutrition, skin care and lifestyle to reduce stress. There are some useful guides on the Internet which can help you devise and follow a successful home treatment program to handle from all angles.
