Ways to Treat Acne

Ways to treat - is one of the most common skin conditions in the western world. Unfortunately, tends to strike during adolescence, which is the time that we are most insecure about our appearance. While most of the time is completely harmless, it can be a terrible source of embarrassment and depression for teenagers. Fortunately, there are many treatments that can be used, from simply employing proper hygiene to taking medication.

One very interesting fact about is that it is almost non existent outside of the western world. This indicates that diet may be one contributing factor to the development and severity of acne. This is an area of active research, but no study has found a valid explanation for this phenomenon. It was once believed that was caused by eating chocolate and greasy foods, but this hypothesis has not held up under rigorous scientific study.

For excessively embarrassing outbreaks, it is possible to use a coverup makeup to conceal the blemish until it disappears. This is one of the best ways to help treat though on a temporary basis. However it helps with the self esteem.

A number of topical creams are flesh colored so that they can both treat and conceal the pimple. may require medical treatment if the pimples become cystic, as these pimples can become painful and swollen.

While adolescents are the most common sufferers of acne, the disease respects no boundaries, and babies, as well as adult men and women can suffer from acne. tends to occur when hormone levels are in flux, and tends to level off when hormone levels stabilize. This explains the high occurrence of during adolescence and in newborn babies.

There  are a number of homemade treatments that go beyond washing with soap and water. Some of these homemade treatments are quite bizarre, and involve the application of certain herbs and spices. Some treatments even call for honey and red pepper! Clearly, there is no scientific evidence to back up these treatments.
