Acne is one of the most common and natural skin problems we go through. Though acne is common among the teens, adults have it too. But no matter who has it, it's embarrassing and painful. But getting rid of acne isn't that though. It just takes some changes in your lifestyle and some remedies. Here's more on that...
Wash up your face, neck plus hairline areas once (preferably twice) a day. Wash softly by rubbing with fingertips... do this in a circular motion. Done? Just rinse out with warm water.
You can also try OTC acne medications. For most people, it makes more sense trying out several medications before settling down to one that best suits with the skin type and tone. There are acne medications featuring a wide variety of ingredients and prices. And there's one rule of thumb when it comes to shopping for OTC acne medications - the most expensive isn't essentially the best!
And be careful while using skin products. It's a safe practice to use only the oil-free versions of make-up, lotion or sunscreen products. The ones reading "nonacnegenic" and/or "noncomedogenic" should be your top priority.
Likewise, don't even think of applying hair products on your face... no matter what people say. Cover up your entire face with a soft piece of cloth while applying your hair gel or hairspray and things like that. And while you take a shower, thoroughly wash the face to get rid of the shampoo or conditioner that might have run down on your face. Make sure that you're keeping your face clear of sweat, germs or dirt. Remember to pull back your long hair in hot weather and stay away from wearing hats or sunglasses.
Consult a dermatologist when your acne starts affecting your overall attire and self-confidence. S/he might prescribe heavy-duty medications or further preventive measures.
And another good idea is to bring some positive changes into your current diet plan. Too much chocolate, candy or greasy and unhealthful foods might actually contribute to your unhealthful complexion. Keep your junk food consumption under check and consume lots of vitamins (A, B, C and D) to have a healthier skin tone, free from acne infections.
And finally, be sure to choose a face soap (or a face wash) that suits your skin tone. Soaps that contain ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sulfur and resorcinol are best for the majority of the skin types. And getting rid of acne shouldn't be much of a problem if you remember these tips.
